Saxophonists Derek Nash and Phil Veacock, plus guitarist Mark Flanagan have collectively notched up over 75 years of boogie with the Jools Holland Rhythm & Blues Orchestra. Together, they bring you a show full of swing, blues and grooves, going toe-to-toe for your approval alongside the rhythm section of Pete Whittaker (organ) and George Double (drums). While Jools himself won’t be joining us this time, you’ll be in the expert hands of his long-standing bandmates.

Saxophonist Phil Veacock is best-known as the main arranger, musical director and tenor saxophonist of Jools Holland’s Rhythm and Blues Orchestra. In this role he has arranged for and played with practically everyone of note in popular music from Paul McCartney to Barry White from Elvis Costello to Kylie Minogue.

Derek Nash is one of the busiest freelancers on the UK music scene. A multi award-winning bandleader, instrumentalist and composer, he has been with the Jools Holland R & B Orchestra for nineteen years and delights audiences around the world with his infectious and soulful performances.

Mark Flanagan joined the Jools band in 1988.  Since then he has made countless live, TV, radio and recording appearances with many of the biggest names in the industry.  Mark has also made a name for himself as a solo artist with his own catalogue of songs, written on Dobro and acoustic guitars.  Performing solo, or with a small band, Mark wows his audiences with fine guitar playing and songs written from the heart.

Matt Price is a storytelling stand-up comic from Cornwall who’s been punched by a gangster, hugged by a psychic, and lived to make jokes about it. With charm, self-deprecation, and wild true tales, he’s like your funniest mate—if your mate had a weirder life and better timing.

A festival favourite and seasoned international performer, he’s headlined at Edinburgh, toured Australia, Asia and Europe, and supported big names like Russell Kane—delivering laughter with generosity, charm and storytelling flair.

He headlines a show featuring local talent taking first steps on the stand-up comedy ladder. The support acts are mini-sets from the participants on compere Louie Green’s Stand-Up course.

Opening the show is Ben van der Velde, a globe-trotting gag-smith whose improv-powered whirlwind once founded the “Church of the Holy Kazoo,” re‑married people via voodoo, and walked the entire Tube for charity. With razor‑sharp spontaneity, audience hijinks, and contagious laughs (scientifically verified), he’s the unpredictable comic you didn’t know you needed.

‘Lime and limpid green, a second scene now fights between the blue you once knew.’

And so, it began back in 1967 and the music of Pink Floyd has continued to intrigue, attract, and delight audiences for almost 60 years.

The Post Floyd Dream is at its nucleus, made up of 7 experienced musicians with a passion for this iconic band, performing the music in a way that will satisfy even the most diehard Pink Floyd fan.

Originally formed in 2015 for a one-off charity event in memory of a musician local to the bands Essex base, the band founding members decided to continue and expand the project. Since then, TPFD has evolved and developed with the current line-up being the most dedicated yet to achieving an authentic tribute to Pink Floyd’s music.

A two and a half hour set of Floyd classics spanning Meddle to The Division Bell including tracks from The Dark Side of the Moon and a few surprises for which mention must go to Pink Floyd’s drummer and founder member Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets touring band.

Audiences will be treated to a full stage show complete with lights, lasers, visuals, sound effects and stunning audio quality.

England cricketing legend Graham Gooch OBE is the highest run-scorer of all time, and his 67,057 runs across first class and limited-overs cricket is more even than Sachin Tendulkar’s tally.
One of only 25 players to have scored over 100 first-class centuries, he is a three time Ashes winner, captained England to a World Cup final, and his famous 333 against India is the highest Test score ever at Lord’s.
In 2012 he became England’s batting coach, working with greats including Kevin Pietersen and Joe Root. Gooch’s experience of the game simply can’t be bettered, and he has the stories to prove it!

Joined by two of English folk’s most in-demand musicians, Evan Carson (bodhran, percussion) and Archie Churchill-Moss (guitar, accordion), Finn combines a fundamentally folk approach with elements of early music to sculpt a distinctive and pioneering sound.

Join us for a ‘rowlocking’ evening in The Trafalgar Tavern with lively musical entertainment and a celebration of the exploits of our great national hero, Admiral Horatio Nelson.

This entertaining and dramatic piece, starting and ending in Trafalgar Square, charts Admiral Lord Nelson’s life and achievements. The music is lively and engaging, exploring songs of different genres in the choruses and, with a narrator and solo parts, allowing opportunities for cameo roles and a number of choreographed dances.

Jubilee Opera’s work is rare, if not unique, in our region. Working with children and professional practitioners from different areas of performance art, the standard aimed at is exacting and rewarding, giving opportunities to a wide range of young people who would not otherwise have such a chance.

The best place by the festive fireside was always reserved for the storyteller. Join Edwyrdian Tales for an evening of haunting dark delights set during Christmastide, on our second national tour of ghostly tales of dread. This year our night of seasonal spirits features terrors from classic authors of the age… MR James and Marjorie Bowen.

In “Number 13” a traveller discovers that his hotel room is not quite all that it seems and that the Number 13 is indeed unlucky for some… In “Kecksies” two ill-mannered young Lords impose on the hospitality of a tenant accused of witchcraft, only to find that candles are lit for a funeral in the house. When they decide to play a cruel prank on those coming to pay their respects to the dead, no one will escape the consequences untouched.… And finally in “Oh Whistle and I’ll Come to you my Lad” a storm is whistled up along a bleak stretch of coastline, and a question howls upon the wind “Who is this who is coming…”

Holmes has booked Watson a two week stay at a health spa, high in the Sproughton Mountains, near Ipswich. Though Watson insists he doesn’t require steam baths and carrot soup, Holmes persuades him to “take the cure” and return to his duties well rested and refreshed. But something is amiss at Queasy Pines Sanatorium. Having no contact with the outside world except phone, post, telegram and carrier pigeon, Watson must wait for Holmes’ visit to tell him of the mysterious disappearances at Queasy Pines and its strange one legged Superintendent, Professor Eintrouser.

Join us for a captivating talk with National Trust volunteer and researcher Richard Symes, who has uncovered the extraordinary story of Dunwich Heath, a place where history, drama, and nature collide.

Over the last 300 years this seemingly peaceful landscape has been dug up, cut down, shot over and burnt. From smugglers hiding contraband along the coast, to shipwrecks that changed lives; from coastguards risking it all in treacherous seas, to artists finding inspiration in the wild beauty of the heath, Dunwich has seen it all.

Its history doesn’t stop there. Submarines once prowled its waters. The heath was turned into a battlefield with tanks and big guns, echoing with the threat of invasion during wartime. And yet, out of this turbulent past, it has been transformed into the nature reserve we know today, a place of sanctuary and survival.

Come along and immerse yourself in the remarkable story of a landscape that has shaped lives and witnessed history in ways you would never expect.

Wooden Roots is located in Rendlesham, just outside Woodbridge in Suffolk and is a drum business, with a shop, classrooms and workshop. Marcus and Gemma, who are the founders of Wooden Roots run drumming classes for children and adults everywhere, including local schools, care homes, prisons and offices.

We all have rhythm within us, even if we haven’t met it yet. They teach all levels and this workshop will be a special introduction to drumming to uplift our spirits and enjoy a group session.

This easy-to-follow, joy-filled session will help you connect with your natural rhythmic flow, enjoy the magic of teamwork, and create music together.  The group is divided into sections, each playing different rhythms that blend together into a powerful, shared sound.

Richard Allenby-Pratt is an award-winning photographer who has been recording rural life in Suffolk for the last 8 years for ‘The Suffolk Project’ which can be viewed on instagram @thesuffolkproject or his website www.thesuffolkproject.co.uk

This year, much of Richard’s efforts have been directed at recording the changes in the landscape made by energy infrastructure works, and recording interviews with the people impacted by them. This project is now supported by East Suffolk District Councillors, in collaboration with The Long Shop Museum, Leiston.

In his ‘Love Letter to East Suffolk’ series of talks, Richard is sharing his photographs of East Suffolk and talking about what he has learned along the way: about the landscapes, wildlife, people, traditions and industries of the coastal area. He’s also introducing his ‘impacts’ project and offering the opportunity for people to tell their own stories.

Renowned for his performances in Pantomime, local funny-man Wayne Burns makes a welcome appearance on Aldeburgh’s Jubilee Hall stage with an evening of adult comedy and general nonsense.

2026 marks a significant milestone, the 250th anniversary of John Constable’s birth.

This talk by Patricia Hodgkins of the National Trust, begins with a look at Flatford as it stands today, where every building in the small hamlet is now under the care of the Trust. Much of the surrounding Stour Valley is also owned by them, though not in its entirety.

Through a series of familiar paintings and related sketches, we’ll explore Constable’s life in Suffolk, his artistic methods, and how he balanced his work between London and his beloved Suffolk landscape.

Finally, in this special anniversary year, we’ll consider how Constable’s art came to capture the hearts of the English public and earned its enduring place in the nation’s affection.
