Britten’s witty, high energy Three Divertimenti, paired with Beethoven’s triumphant String Quartet No.12.Named after the Greek word for virtue or excellence, South Korean Arete Quartet bring this intriguing pairing to the Jubilee Hall stage. Britten’s light-hearted youthful work contrasts with one of Beethoven’s legendary final quartets; music that is original, introspective and ultimately both transcendent and revelatory.

Formed in 2019, the Arete Quartet is one of the world’s most acclaimed young string quartets, winning major international competitions including the Prague Spring, Mozart Competition Salzburg and Lyon International Chamber Music Competition. Recognised for their exceptional ensemble playing, they are Artists-in-Residence at ProQuartet in Paris for 2025–27.
