After serving in the Scots Guards Sir Alex joined SIS as an intelligence officer. His service included Europe, the Middle East and as head of Intelligence in Afghanistan. He was Chief of SIS (MI6) from 2014 to 2020. He will talk about past and current threats including briefly outlining the current UK security apparatus.
He will look at the security implications for the UK of all the various changes happening throughout the world especially China, Russia and the Middle East.
This will be a rare opportunity to hear directly from the most recent head of MI6 (SIS).
