General Manager
Context
We are excited to announce the recruitment for a new General Manager at our community arts venue, Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall.
This transition comes at a pivotal time as our current Hall Manager, Ann Barkway, moves aside to focus on her role as Chair of Trustees. This shift allows Ann to build on important strategic initiatives and vital funding and development work, ensuring our continued growth and success.
Ann has been instrumental in steering our venue to where it is today. Her dedication and leadership have laid a solid foundation and now, by concentrating on the broader strategic vision and securing essential resources, will drive our organisation forward on a bigger scale. This change is not a departure but a strategic realignment to maximise Ann’s strengths and impact.
The new General Manager will take on the day-to-day operations at the Hall, bringing fresh energy and perspective to our team. We are committed to finding an individual who shares our passion and vision, and who will continue to foster the inclusive and creative spirit of Jubilee Hall.
Role
This is a brilliant opportunity for a talented individual who may have been working in a leadership role, not necessarily at General Manager level, to manage our inclusive and historic arts and community venue. It’s an exciting time to join us; In October, we will be reopening our original entrance at the front of our building after more than 130 years, including a new foyer and bar following a transformational redevelopment project.
This new post plays a pivotal role in leading the Hall. The new General Manager will be given the space to lead their own work, supported by our board of Trustees where required. It has the freedom and potential to shape the future of the Hall. As an audience-focused organisation, we want to reach a larger, more diverse, and younger audience from our thriving town on the Suffolk coast and the wider East Anglia region. We’ll do this through programming incredible performances as well as through our creative community and engagement work.
