A beguilingly constructed programme of trios including Schnyder’s A Friday Night in August alongside Glinka’s Pathétique.Frühling’s trio dates from the turn of the twentieth century and is by turns reminiscent of Brahms, Schumann, and even Wagner, while also showing his distinctive voice. In Glinka’s Pathétique Trio, which recalls early Beethoven, Russian folk melody is expressed in the idiom of the Viennese classics. Meanwhile, the Russian-born Swiss composer Paul Juon’s 4 Trio-Miniatures are among his most frequently played chamber music and demonstrate his sound poetry, his art of storytelling in music, his joy in dancing and rhythmic surprises. The programme also includes the Swiss composer Daniel Schnyder’s evocative A Friday Night in August.

The exciting Quantum Clarinet Trio is committed to bringing audiences rediscovered treasures along with classic masterpieces from across the centuries.
