The Terra String Quartet returns with an eclectic programme of Seo, Britten and Prokofiev. For its second Friday lunchtime concert, the Terra String Quartet opens with Overgrown Paths, a striking new work by South Korean composer Juri Seo, premiered by the Quartet in June 2025. This is followed by Britten’s haunting final quartet, the last major work he composed. The concert closes with Prokofiev’s vibrant String Quartet No. 2, written during his wartime evacuation to Kabardia, featuring vivid folk melodies from the region.

Recent prize winners at the 2025 Bordeaux and Wigmore Hall International Quartet Competitions, the Terra String Quartet is a vibrant young international ensemble based in New York City. It is composed of graduates of The Juilliard School, The New England Conservatory, Harvard University, and the Curtis Institute of Music. Known for their sincere storytelling, commitment to artistic excellence, and versatile approach to repertoire, the Quartet strives to foster conversation and genuine human connection through their performances and pedagogy.
