One of Europe’s leading young string quartets presents a distinctive pairing of Schulhoff and Beethoven.‘After this, what is left for us to write?’ said Schubert of Beethoven’s C-sharp minor quartet. It is a pinnacle of the repertoire, with its remarkable grandeur and writing that can still seem somewhat avant-garde today. It is here paired with Schulhoff’s Five Pieces – meticulously crafted and a compelling listen.
