A magical shadow-theatre telling of Kipling’s classic for families with children aged 4 and above
Fearless and free, Mowgli the ‘ man-cub ‘ finds fun and friendship despite learning to live by the Law of the Jungle. Mowgli’s daring adventures in the dangerous world he inhabits, are brought to life by Indigo Moon Theatre with inventive shadow theatre, original music and colourful digital projections. Inspired by the poetry and spirit of Kipling’s original books, this is a contemporary tale of wisdom in our eternal quest for love, identity and belonging.
Discover more about the show in this video and find out more about this inspirational and accessible art form after the show, with its use of puppets and multiple light sources.
Join us for a puppet-making workshop at 11am – free to ticket-holders for the afternoon performance. Spaces limited to 30
“This is the kind of theatre I would take my children to see, as it clearly tells a story through engaging poetic words filled with important messages about life – the invaluable knowledge that is not taught at school and that children and adults mustn’t forget. I will definitely be on the lookout for their future performances”
Sofia Moura, Theatre Fullstop
“….shadow-characters swing and scamper across several tiers of jungle, often overlayed against one another, blurring in and out of focus to suggest the environment’s tangled depths…….fabulously colourful and psychedelic ……. all underscored by atmospheric south Asian music and sound…”
Brian Logan, The Guardian
The performance ends approx. 2.50pm. There is no interval.
