An autumn weekend morning with a touch of spring about it. Both these quintets written by young men (Mozart was still a teenager) and they burst with a freshness, vitality and invention.   Amidst the energy and intricacy, both pieces are crowned by sublime slow movements in which the addition of a second viola to the standard string quartet line up provides a rich warmth of sound to underpin the exquisite melodies.  Combining leading players from UK ensembles, the group presents two enthralling and unusual chamber music masterpieces. 

 Concert ends 1245pm.  There is no interval.
